The Celtic numbers series is based upon the 4 sacred numbers used by the Celts. The method they used to get to these numbers was a combination of logic, taoism and theosophic addition. Theosophic addition states that all numbers are really an aspect of the numbers 1-9 and all numbers can be energetically reduced to one of these. Taoist numeric philosophy says that all even numbers are feminine in nature (as they are all divisible by 2). Taking these two ideas together leaves us, out of all the numbers in the world, with the odd numbers from 1-9. If we then exclude 1, which is obviously the root of all number, we arrive at 3,5,7,9 which are 'distinct' energetic ideas in the absoluteness of space and time. I've chosen a single line mandala (try following each knot) to describe each numbers path when marking the spokes of a circle (symbolically representing unity). The weaving of the single line in the symbol of the number is a magical act that binds the vision of the viewer to the concept of the core element of life itself, hence these pictures justifiably can be regarded as mandalas in the true sense of the word.

The Arabic and Celtic series intends to show the beauty of the two cultural art forms by juxtaposing the styles on the same design. The Arabic theme is displayed centrally while the Celtic Art form is used for the boarder. Although very different in their execution, the foundation of both art forms in pattern mathematics makes for a pleasing composition.
